Mark Smith

I am a team captain for the Yorkshire region.

I received a Kidney & Pancreas transplant in 2009 following 25 years of Diabetes. Since then I have completed many walking challenges and charity dinners raising around £16,000 to date.

I have met my donor family several times and walked Hadrian's Wall in 2016 with my donor’s mother over 6 days.

I have been on national TV and radio up and down the country, national and local press and local radio many times and have won awards for my volunteer work.

I keep myself busy promoting organ donation and have even spoken in Westminster as a representative of Kidney Care. I have also been involved with different patient centred initiatives. I work with Kidney Care on their Patient Advisory group, a local Organ donation committee and have recently supported a new northern support group.
